TheyFolk is run by a small team. In order to best support women, non-binary, trans, and intersex artists, we ask that you carefully read the below information to see if applying for TheyFolk is right for you.
The FemFolk team is human, and therefore imperfect, so if you think we've made a mistake, or if we can improve the guidelines for potential submissions, send us a message.

-

-

Because of Covid-19, our genre restrictions have been suspended. We are accepting and encouraging applications from artists from all musical genres.
Gender:
FemFolk is focussed on providing a platform and support for artists who may be subject to gender-based discrimination, or a lack of support in the UK music scene. This includes but is not limited to artists who identify as women, non-binary, trans or intersex.
For duos, or groups, we simply ask that your ensemble either:
-
be lead, fronted, or have the majority of the songwriting done by a woman, non-binary, trans, or intersex person.
-
consist of at least 50% women, non-binary, trans, or intersex individuals.
Please take the time to fill out the form relevant to the area nearest you.
Now that you have submitted your creations to the FemFolk team, here's what you can expect.
During the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we will endeavour to help organise and promote live streaming events daily in the above time zones. If you have another event, feel free to tag FemFolk UK in it, and we will do our best to share it as well.
We ask you to consider donating to the FemFolk team, which allows us to keep on reviewing, planning and promoting, all to keep on serving you. If you are unable to donate, please share our donation page, so we can continue to support artists such as yourselves.
